What is the ‘Here to Help’ project?
‘Here to Help’ is a new project from SJOG which aims to raise awareness and provide information, advice and guidance regarding autism and suicidality across the North East.
We are launching on 1st July.
We work across all 5 Tees Valley regions (Middlesbrough, Stockton, Hartlepool, Darlington and Redcar & Cleveland).
We work with:
Autistic individuals 14+
Parents and carers of autistic individuals
Professionals who support autistic individuals
We are not a crisis service and instead aim to empower individuals to feel able to support their own mental health and find the support that they need during crisis.
We will do this in three ways:
- Here to Help Platform (which you are accessing at the moment!). We will regularly update content for this platform in response to feedback.
- Awareness Roadshow. Our Magic Space mobile sensory unit will be going on tour across the Tees Valley so keep your eyes peeled for us or follow our planned routes in the Events tab.
- Workshops and Sessions. We offer a range of wellbeing and psychoeducation sessions for autistic individuals and parents of autistic individuals. We also offer training for professionals. Find more information about upcoming events in our events tab, or contact us on heretohelp@sjog.org.uk if you would like to suggest other sessions or a different location.
