Bring it On! Holiday Activities

Bring It On! Is the new name for the holiday activities and food (HAF) programme in Middlesbrough and Redcar and Cleveland.

Bring It On! runs during the school holidays to offer free, fun activities and food to children and young people aged 5 to 16 years.  Bookings for the Summer Holidays are now open.

To take part your child must be:

  • Getting benefit related free school meals
  • Aged 4 to 16 years (reception to year 11) and be in full time education

Forest and Beach School

Cost: Free (funded by Redcar and Cleveland Short Breaks)
Eligibility: SEND children/young people in full time education
(4/5 years – 18 years) who live in Redcar and Cleveland.
Availability: 8 families per session, allocated on a first come first serve basis.
Supervision: Children and young people must be supervised at all times by a
Parent/Carer. Children and young people are welcome to attend with their DP
worker/PA. Children and young people are advised to wear wellies and
waterproofs, old clothes and wear extra layers!
Bookings: please email Shortbreaks@redcar-cleveland.gov.uk to book. A
registration form will need to be completed. If the session is full, you will be
given the opportunity to join a waiting list.
Cancellations: If you are unable to attend, please ensure you cancel your
place via the Short Breaks Team. Cancelled places will be offered to families
on the waiting list.

 

Please bring a drink for your child.
Please make sure children have extra layers of
clothes as it is often cooler at the coast/in the
woods.
An extra set of clothes is usually a good idea.
Footwear – wellies, walking boots or old trainers are
advised.
Marske Scout Hut is located on Marske High Street,
it is tucked behind a sandstone cottage.
Access – The Scout Hut has wheelchair access.
Pushchairs could be dragged backwards on the
beach, wheelchairs would likely need to be a
specialist model to manage on the sand.
Parking – There is parking for one blue badge
holder at the hut, further parking is located on the
high street (limited) or at the entrance to Marske
valley gardens, you would then need to walk through
the valley gardens and up the slope on the left
turning right at the top you will see the sandstone
cottage and the scout hut is behind this.

SEND Stay and Play Sessions

Sensory play environment with sensory lighting, projector, black out tents,
sensory equipment and toys. Hoist and change facilities available.
Cost: Free (funded by Redcar and Cleveland Short Breaks)
Eligibility: SEND children/young people up to 18 years
Availability: 15 places per session, 1 session per child/young person, allocated on a
first come first serve basis.
Supervision: Children and young people must be supervised at all times by a
Parent/Carer. Children and young people are welcome to attend with their DP
worker/PA.
Bookings – please email your child’s name, age and a contact number to
Shortbreaks@redcar-cleveland.gov.uk. The team will confirm if you have been
allocated a place. If the session is full, you will be given the chance to join a waiting list.
Cancellations: If you are unable to attend, please ensure you cancel your
place via the Short Breaks Team. Cancelled places will be offered to families
on the waiting list

Walk into Wellness is a partnership comprised of the best walking providers from the community, voluntary, health and statutory sectors across Hartlepool. Their aim is to encourage more people to walk and experience the benefits that being outdoors and walking can have on physical and mental health issues.

Never Throw In The Towel – Free June Retreat

“Never throw in the towel” aims to raise awareness of the dangers men face in not talking about issues they may be encountering. This free event takes place on the 30th June 9 am – 12:30 pm

MAIN Summer Fayre

MAIN’s Summer Fayre is this weekend, please come along and support this local charity.  It is free entry, there is lots to do and see including a bouncy castle, exotic animals, a surfing simulator, various stalls, a tombola and refreshments including a BBQ.
