Cost: Free (funded by Redcar and Cleveland Short Breaks)
Eligibility: SEND children/young people in full time education
(4/5 years – 18 years) who live in Redcar and Cleveland.
Availability: 8 families per session, allocated on a first come first serve basis.
Supervision: Children and young people must be supervised at all times by a
Parent/Carer. Children and young people are welcome to attend with their DP
worker/PA. Children and young people are advised to wear wellies and
waterproofs, old clothes and wear extra layers!
Bookings: please email Shortbreaks@redcar-cleveland.gov.uk to book. A
registration form will need to be completed. If the session is full, you will be
given the opportunity to join a waiting list.
Cancellations: If you are unable to attend, please ensure you cancel your
place via the Short Breaks Team. Cancelled places will be offered to families
on the waiting list.
Please bring a drink for your child.
Please make sure children have extra layers of
clothes as it is often cooler at the coast/in the
woods.
An extra set of clothes is usually a good idea.
Footwear – wellies, walking boots or old trainers are
advised.
Marske Scout Hut is located on Marske High Street,
it is tucked behind a sandstone cottage.
Access – The Scout Hut has wheelchair access.
Pushchairs could be dragged backwards on the
beach, wheelchairs would likely need to be a
specialist model to manage on the sand.
Parking – There is parking for one blue badge
holder at the hut, further parking is located on the
high street (limited) or at the entrance to Marske
valley gardens, you would then need to walk through
the valley gardens and up the slope on the left
turning right at the top you will see the sandstone
cottage and the scout hut is behind this.
